Jordan Spieth showcased his trademark resilience during the first round of the 2025 CJ Cup Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. Despite an underwhelming start, Spieth delivered a remarkable recovery on the par-4 third hole. After his tee shot landed in the native area, he executed a precise 108-yard recovery to the fairway, followed by a deft pitch to within seven feet of the hole, culminating in a crucial par save .

 

Spieth concluded the round with a 2-under 69, placing him tied for 80th and necessitating a strong second round to make the cut. This performance comes as he prepares for the upcoming PGA Championship at Quail Hollow, where a victory would complete his career Grand Slam, making him the seventh golfer in history to achieve this feat .
