Golf Fans Demand Justice as Korn Ferry Tour Pro Reveals Unfortunate Stealing Incident After Win

Bryson Nimmer’s Triumph Turns Into Turmoil After Golf Club Theft

Bryson Nimmer recently experienced a significant high in his golf career, clinching his first-ever Korn Ferry Tour (KFT) victory at the Tulum Championship in Mexico. After enduring a tough season with multiple underwhelming performances throughout 2024, this win marked a long-awaited turning point. However, just as Nimmer began celebrating what could be the start of a breakthrough year—possibly even earning his PGA Tour card—he was hit with devastating news.

Upon returning to his hometown of Bluffton after the victory, Nimmer discovered that his golf clubs had been stolen. The set included custom and high-value equipment. In an Instagram story, he shared details in hopes that someone in the area might help recover them. He described the missing items as a Mizuno golf bag in blue and white with his name on it, containing Mizuno S3 irons, Callaway or Mizuno drivers, a 3-wood, a mini driver, and a prized Scotty Cameron Circle T putter.

This unexpected loss has cast a shadow over what should have been a celebratory time for Nimmer. Known for his early promise at Hilton Head Christian Academy and Clemson University, his transition to the professional golf world hasn’t been easy. In 2024 alone, he made the cut in just seven of nineteen tournaments, losing his automatic Korn Ferry Tour status as a result. Before his win in Mexico, Nimmer had competed in only three events this season, earning just over $8,000.

His recent victory, though, was a major milestone. Not only did it come with a $180,000 prize, but it also pushed him to 16th in the KFT season-long points standings—a key position, as the top 20 by year’s end earn PGA Tour cards. Off the course, his life has been moving forward too. He recently married news anchor Riley Miller, and the couple is expecting their first child.

Unfortunately, the joy of his breakthrough win has been deeply marred by the theft. Golf fans have rallied in support of Nimmer online, expressing frustration and anger over the incident. Some noted the high value of his stolen putter—Scotty Cameron’s Circle T—known for its elite design and performance, often valued between $3,000 and $4,500.

This isn’t the first time professional golfers have fallen victim to theft. In 2019, Annie Park had her clubs stolen from her rental car right before a major tournament. Similarly, in 2022, Ben Hadden, then preparing for an event in Texas after earning his PGA Tour Canada card, had his custom clubs stolen from a golf club parking lot. Hadden described the loss as one of the worst days of his life and even had to launch a GoFundMe campaign to replace them.

While there are currently no updates from Nimmer about the recovery of his stolen gear, the golf community continues to show solidarity, urging authorities and the public to help track down the missing equipment. Whether this incident proves to be just another bump in the road or a major setback remains to be seen—but based on his perseverance, many believe Bryson Nimmer has what it takes to come back even stronger.
