The highly anticipated Swatch Nines Surf event is back for 2025, bringing together a dynamic mix of surfing, skateboarding, and BMX athletes for a thrilling multi-sport showcase. This year’s event will take place over three action-packed days at Waco Surf in Texas, with 35 incredible athletes set to take part, pushing the boundaries of their sports in an unforgettable way.
The athlete roster is packed with top-tier talent, including surfers like Zoë McDougall, Coco Ho, Milla Coco Brown, and Macy Callaghan; skateboarders such as Andy Anderson, Gustavo Ribeiro, and Gabriel Ribeiro; and BMX riders like Sam Pilgrim, Kevin Peraza, and Matthias Dandois. These riders will come together in a custom-built setup designed specifically for this year’s event.
The format of the Swatch Nines event is intentionally designed to be free of traditional competition. Instead, the goal is to foster creativity, experimentation, and collaboration among the athletes. According to surfer Noah Beschen, the event’s uniqueness lies in the opportunity for riders to simply enjoy their time together, with no competition to distract from the creative process. “It’s rare to be at an event where the only goal is to get creative, experiment, surf and skate with your friends,” he said.
The new features for the 2025 event were designed by the athletes themselves during a workshop in Encinitas earlier in the year. These innovative elements will add to the already exciting atmosphere, making this year’s Swatch Nines even more extraordinary. The combination of surfing, skateboarding, and BMX will showcase the talent and versatility of each athlete, allowing them to push their limits in ways that have never been seen before.
