Scheffler Slips in Round 2 After Early Birdies
Fresh off his PGA Championship win, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler returned to the course for the 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge. Playing at the Colonial Country Club, Scheffler entered the second round with momentum—but Friday’s performance showed some cracks in his form.
Early Promise, Late Setbacks
Scheffler opened Round 2 with a birdie on the par-5 1st and added another at the 6th. But things turned after a bogey on hole 9. From there, the trend continued downward, as he dropped two more shots at holes 12 and 14. He closed the day at 1-under par, placing him tied for 47th at the time of reporting.
Cut Line Drama Looms
According to Data Golf projections, there’s a 60.5% chance that the cut line will stay at 1-under par. That leaves Scheffler just inside the line to continue into Rounds 3 and 4—though not with the cushion fans expected from the in-form major champ.
Eyes Still on the Prize
With elite competitors like Jordan Spieth, Tommy Fleetwood, and Brian Harman in the mix, Scheffler has work to do if he wants to climb the leaderboard over the weekend. But as always, golf fans know never to count him out.
