“Oakmont Doesn’t Care Who You Are: Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott Get Humbled Before U.S. Open 2025”

Oakmont Delivers Early Pain Ahead of U.S. Open
Golf legends Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott found out the hard way that Oakmont Country Club isn’t playing nice this year. During a grueling Monday practice round, the two major champions were reportedly battered by the brutal course setup for the 2025 U.S. Open.

Triple Bogey After Three Good Shots?
According to Golf Channel’s Eamon Lynch, McIlroy made a shocking triple bogey on the par-4 2nd hole—despite hitting three solid shots. The Northern Irishman joked, “That’s great. Did [Johnny Miller] make a 7 on No. 2 as well?” after being reminded of Miller’s famous 63 at Oakmont in 1973.

Adam Scott Also Felt the Heat
Scott, another seasoned major winner, wasn’t spared either. He hit every fairway on the front nine… and still finished three-over par. “Imagine if I hadn’t hit the fairway,” Scott reportedly said, clearly frustrated by the punishing conditions.

Oakmont Is Ready to Break Dreams
With over 700 golfers having tried to qualify on what’s called “Golf’s Longest Day,” Oakmont is now preparing to host the elite field. And from what McIlroy and Scott experienced, the message is clear—no one is safe.

The Host With the Most
This marks a record 10th U.S. Open at Oakmont, and the USGA has already locked it in for future editions through 2049. Recent course renovations have made the rough meaner, the bunkers deeper, and the greens more treacherous than ever.

A Brutal Battle Awaits
If McIlroy and Scott struggled this much in practice, fans can expect a bloodbath when the action officially tees off. Oakmont isn’t just hosting the U.S. Open—it’s preparing to crush egos and rewrite expectations.
