Jonathan Owens Prepares for Year 8 in the NFL as Simone Biles Heads Back to the Islands
After finishing the 2024 NFL regular season with a thrilling 24-22 win over the Green Bay Packers on January 5, Jonathan Owens has been savoring time off with his wife, Simone Biles. The couple recently enjoyed a relaxing getaway to Belize—complete with oceanfront cocktails, yacht days, and fishing in clear waters. But things are shifting again.
Jonathan Owens enters his seventh season in the NFL and second with the @ChicagoBears! In 2024 he appeared in every game and started 5 games for the Bears.
We are excited to see him continue to excel this fall!

Just six days ago, Owens hinted that it’s almost time to get back to work. Posting training photos with the caption, “Almost that time ⏳#Year8,” the Chicago Bears safety is gearing up for his eighth NFL season. Owens began his journey as an undrafted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals in 2018. While that year was spent on injured reserve, he’s since played actively in the league across six seasons and is entering his second with the Bears.
Coinciding with the start of the Bears’ 2025 training camp, his alma mater Missouri Western celebrated Owens’ continued success. Highlighting his college career from 2013 to 2017, where he earned Second-Team All-MIAA honors and the school’s Male Student-Athlete of the Year award, the school praised his growth and 2024 stats—49 tackles, two pass breakups, an interception, a tackle-for-loss, two fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble. He even scored Chicago’s first touchdown of the year by returning a blocked punt for 21 yards in the season opener against the Titans.
While Owens returns to the grind, Biles has embraced more beach life—this time without him. With no gymnastics competitions scheduled for her in 2025, she’s jetted off to the British Virgin Islands with friends. Sharing updates from her yacht, the Tanna 47, she posted views of the ocean and cozy interiors, calling it “home for the week.” Her girl squad includes Torrie Brown, former volleyball player and wife of Bears tight end Marcedes Lewis, and friend Ocius.
Although the couple is back to long-distance for now, their support for each other continues. As Owens enters Year 8 with strong momentum, fans and analysts alike are watching to see if he can step up and make an even bigger impact for the Bears this season.
