Kolby Aipa, Surf Royalty, Tragically Dies in E-Bike Accident

**Surfing World Mourns Loss of Kolby Aipa in Tragic E-Bike Accident**

The surfing community is grieving the sudden loss of 20-year-old Kolby Aipa, grandson of legendary Hawaiian surfboard shaper Ben Aipa, after a fatal e-bike accident in Huntington Beach, California.

On Saturday night, Aipa was reportedly being towed behind a car driven by friends when he was struck by the same vehicle. He was placed on life support but passed away on Tuesday, August 5.

Tributes have poured in from Hawaii to the mainland. The Aipa Surf Company, founded by his grandfather, shared an emotional statement:

> “Kolby always had a way with touching the lives of whoever he met… pass his Aloha on. So, how Kolby treated you, treat others in that same way. In this you are continuing his legacy of Aloha.”

Kolby was a rising talent in the surf scene, sponsored by AVVA, Dakine, and Cobian, and an active member of the Huntington Beach Board Riders club. Known for his kindness as much as his skill in the water, his passing has left a deep void in both the surfing world and his local communities.

A memorial paddle-out is being planned to honor his life and legacy.
