Drew Brees Switches Fields—Now It’s Pickleball Time
NFL legend Drew Brees is taking his competitive spirit to a new court—pickleball. The former New Orleans Saints quarterback just announced the third annual NOLA Pickle Fest, and this year, it’s bigger than ever. With the support of the Brees Dream Foundation, the event blends sport, charity, and celebrity energy.
Andre Agassi Joins the Show
The 2025 edition will feature none other than tennis legend Andre Agassi, a man with 8 Grand Slam titles and an Olympic gold medal. His presence adds serious star power to the already electric lineup, bringing credibility and excitement to the rapidly growing sport of pickleball.
What to Expect at NOLA Pickle Fest 2025
Set for August 6–10, this year’s festival promises more than just backyard paddle battles. It’ll include:
PickleRoll pro courts
Live music and VIP zones
Celebrity exhibition matches
Grandstand seating with Mardi Gras float views
There will be women’s, men’s, and mixed doubles divisions ranging from skill levels 3.0 to 5.0+.
Brees’ Heart Is Still in the Game
Though retired, Brees remains connected to sports. He’s even shared thoughts on the Saints’ new quarterback Tyler Shough—calling him “big, strong, tough,” and comparing his journey to Taysom Hill’s in terms of grit and resilience.
Pickleball, but Make It Prime Time
From the NFL gridiron to the pickleball court, Drew Brees is proving once again that passion and leadership don’t stay retired. With Agassi by his side and the New Orleans community behind him, this festival could mark a turning point in pickleball’s rise to mainstream stardom.
