With Formula 1 currently in its month-long summer pause, drivers have taken the opportunity to recharge before the second half of the season begins. Hamilton, like many of his peers, has opted for some downtime after a demanding first half of the year. Dobrev and Taylor-Joy have been spotted with him on other occasions as well, highlighting their close friendship.
The break followed the Hungarian Grand Prix, the 14th race of the season, marking just past the halfway stage of 2025. Competition resumes later in August with the Dutch Grand Prix in the Netherlands.
At this point in the championship, McLaren’s Oscar Piastri leads with 284 points, narrowly ahead of teammate Lando Norris, who sits on 275. Both drivers have an identical number of poles and podiums, but Piastri has secured one more win. Defending champion Max Verstappen is currently third with 187 points.
In the Constructors’ standings, McLaren has pulled ahead with 559 points, keeping Ferrari, Mercedes, and Red Bull trailing behind.
Hamilton, meanwhile, has endured a tough campaign in his debut season with Ferrari. After finishing without points in Hungary, he was openly critical of himself, suggesting the team could even consider replacing him. Despite these harsh comments, he also praised Ferrari’s potential, stating that the team has all the resources necessary to fight for championships. According to him, success depends on aligning all elements and ensuring a smooth, stress-free operation.
So far, Hamilton holds sixth place in the Drivers’ Championship with 109 points, while his teammate Charles Leclerc is fifth with 151 points.
