Young Spurs players are listening intently to everything Son Heung-min says when he addresses the team, according to James Maddison.
Son is now very much the face of Tottenham and was the obvious choice for the captaincy after Harry Kane left the team and Hugo Lloris started to fade into the background.
Having scored nine goals this season, the forward, who is in his ninth season at the North London team, has assumed greater responsibility since Kane’s transfer to Bayern Munich.
Football reported on it. Many at Spurs did not really see Son as a leader, but London’s Alasdair Gold reported a while back that they have been pleasantly surprised by how he has stepped up to the plate since being handed the captain’s armband.

The Tottenham team pays attention to Heung-min Son’s words.
The 31-year-old and Maddison have already developed a wonderful friendship, and the England international acknowledged that the forward is respected by all of his teammates given the way he leads from the front.
The attacking midfielder said on Amazon Prime Video: “People listen to him because he’s such a great player…the young lads are training with us and involved in match day squads, if Sonny is talking, they’re listening.
“He’s just got a nice aura and a big personality, big player aura, that comes alive in big moments and has clutch moments for the club…”
