Although Tottenham Hotspur lost their match against West Ham United 2-1 last night, Cristian Romero left Clive Allen very impressed.
Spurs certainly seem to be in a slump, don’t they? In their last five Premier League games, they have only managed to pick up one point out of a possible fifteen, and things do not appear good. Romero’s comeback last night, though, is a huge plus.

Cristian Romero returned to Tottenham last night following a three-game suspension, and he opened his account with a goal.
The best defender for Spurs is the Argentine. Spurs have truly missed him in recent weeks because he improves them so much at the back.
Romero gave Tottenham the early lead last night with a gorgeous header in the first half. For the most part, he was also excellent at the back, so it was unfortunate that his team lost the game after conceding twice.
Naturally, Tottenham is extremely disappointed with the outcome, but Romero’s return must be seen as a huge plus. Clive Allen is certain of it.
During SpursPlay’s The Review Show, he stated: “I believe what he did, he loves defending.” He was a great defender who made several crucial interceptions and repeatedly got us where we needed to go.
His return to the back four proved to be a huge plus.

Romero’s return gives Tottenham a significant advantage.
Many of Tottenham’s important players are currently absent.
It has been a serious setback for James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, and Rodrigo Bentancur in recent weeks that they are all out until the new year.
Romero served a three-game suspension prior to last night, which meant Ange Postecoglou had to start two full-backs in the middle of the defense.
Romero is back, and even though Tottenham lost last night, having him back will help them greatly in their next games.
