Giovani Lo Celso’s influence on Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks has been lauded by Owen Hargreaves.
Months into Giovani Lo Celso’s loan stint at Tottenham Hotspur, a player the team signed in 2019, Mauricio Pochettino was fired.
The midfielder struggled to establish a regular spot in the team, so that didn’t help his situation when he signed a permanent deal.
This included Giovani Lo Celso spending eighteen months at Villarreal and Antonio Conte barely using the player during his time at Spurs.
Despite this, Owen Hargreaves gushed about the 27-year-old, telling Premier League Productions (03/12/23 at 7:15 pm) that he is a “ball player” and a “Ange Postecoglou player.”
The Argentine is now starting games because of injuries and suspensions that Tottenham has had in the middle of the park.
He has demonstrated his mettle by scoring in back-to-back games, the most notable of which was the 3-3 draw at Manchester City.
The performances of Giovani Lo Celso under Ange Postecoglou
“Lo Celso is a talented player,” Hargreaves remarked. Because he can play the ball, he is an Ange player. A ten-digit number. Although he is more of a number ten, he can play wide.
“His left foot is excellent. Players like these will punish you if you give them time and space (goal against Manchester City).
They are excellent football players, and I believe Ange is hoping to see that. Be upbeat. Play with the ball once it’s down. It is not necessary to be 80 yards deeper as it was with Mourinho or Conte.

Giovani Lo Celso merits a chance at Tottenham.
The midfield player demonstrated that he had the Europa League in his locker by pointing out that it was won by Villareal under Unai Emery.
Although Emery’s desire for him to join Aston Villa in the summer was expected, Postecoglou made the right decision to retain him.
He deserves to be in the starting lineup now, and even if some injured players return, he should maintain his position.
Postecoglou has an additional opportunity to demonstrate his value and how he is helping the team’s players.
