Alasdair Gold, a Tottenham Hotspur expert, has confirmed that the team has another injured player.

In an interview with Gold and Guest, he disclosed that Eric Dier was sidelined for the City match because of an injury.

He disclosed that the defender was left out of the match at Etihad because of soreness he had after their most recent practice.

From 5:00 onward, he stated:

“An additional injury has occurred. Eric Dier was technically out of the Manchester City match due to soreness from the last training session.

Technically speaking, there is one more player on the injury list.

Under manager Ange Postecoglou, Dier has descended the hierarchy and is not given much credit.

This season, he has only made two appearances: starting alongside Ben Davies against Wolves and entering the game off the bench against Chelsea following Romero’s red card.

Postecoglou then dropped him again, this time because he thought fullback Emerson Royal was better than him.

Daniel Levy is allegedly keen to cash in on him rather than let him go for free in the summer, which has led to strong rumors that he will leave in January.

Nevertheless, given Tottenham’s ongoing injury crisis, transfer insider Dean Jones previously stated that the club might decide to keep him and that he might get more opportunities.

His future with the team may be determined during the January transfer window. Tottenham, who are being linked to a number of defenders including Lloyd Kelly, Tosin Adarabioyo, Jean-Clair Todibo, and Jarrad Branthwaite, need to strengthen their defense in the upcoming window.

However, they might have to play Dier out the entire season if they are unable to sign one or more elite defenders.
