Not just Newcastle United is struggling with injuries. Tottenham Hotspur, this weekend’s opponents, have struggled recently as well, and worries about one of their star players could make things much worse for them when the Magpies travel to the capital.

Son Heung-min, a South Korean, hobbled off after Spurs’ 2-1 loss to West Ham on Thursday night. A video of the forward appearing to be in some distress on the bench at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has since surfaced, and Spurs are currently concerned about his fitness.

Injuries to James Maddison and Micky van de Ven have already prevented Ange Postecoglu’s team from playing against United on Sunday. This is due to a sharp decline in performance that has seen them accumulate just one point out of a possible fifteen in the Premier League.

Before the match against Newcastle, Postecoglu was asked if he had any updates on Son’s injury. He responded, “Nothing really.”

The most recent information I received was late on Thursday night. He was obviously a little sore after the game, but we’ll have to wait and see how much better he is today. There were a few more who received knocks, but nothing else seems noteworthy.”

After the match against West Ham, Son gave his own update, telling the media team of his club, “It hurts a bit.” When it crashed earlier, the pain was much worse. Even after it ended, I started to get some soreness, so I started taking painkillers. I just hope it’s not something serious because I will have to check into it tomorrow.”

After Spurs’ midweek loss, Postecoglu looked furious, as his team became the first in Premier League history to lose five straight games despite leading 1-0 in each of them.

The Tottenham manager remarked, “I am angry because it shouldn’t be happening.” “I think we are soft, and five times in a row is just not acceptable.” Although I enjoy working with the guys and I love them as boys, this shouldn’t be happening.”
