In order to end their hunt for a new defender, Tottenham Hotspur has determined that they want to sign Jarrad Branthwaite of Everton.

As one of the best young defenders in the nation, Branthwaite has been instrumental in Everton’s many successful outcomes.

Nevertheless, Tottenham is fully aware that the Toffees are having financial difficulties.

Furthermore, Football Transfers claims that Tottenham has determined that Branthwaite is the player they wish to sign in order to strengthen their defense.

Jarrad Branthwaite

According to Football Transfers, the Spurs team really admires Branthwaite. But rumour has it that Everton has slapped him with a whopping £75 million fee.

Following their summer acquisition of Harry Kane for £100 million, Tottenham does have some cash to spend in January.

It’s not surprising that Tottenham wants to sign Jarrad Branthwaite, as the defender has long been regarded as one of the best up-and-coming players in the game and his performances with Everton this season have skyrocketed his value.

Everton would love to hang onto their man, who Alan Shearer called a “magnificent” defender, but they may have to sell in order to alleviate financial pressures.

Of course, compared to defenders like Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven, Branthwaite is a little different. The Englishman, who is 6 feet 5 inches tall, is a massive defender.

It’s debatable if Tottenham would want to spend that kind of money on a new defender.

It would be shocking to see this deal completed in January because £75 million is a significant sum of money to spend and because they may wish to bolster other positions as well.
