Callum Wilson of Newcastle United received a stern message from Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

The Italian goalkeeper was in goal as Ange Postecoglou’s team defeated the Toon 4-1 in a convincing fashion. When Wilson emerged and gathered the ball, Vicario, 27, made some sly faces at him, which led to a rather heated argument.

The former Bournemouth striker became enraged with the summer signing’s taunting and confronted the former Empoli goalkeeper right away. The new Tottenham hero spit some venom at the England international after Wilson spent some time in his post-match interview criticizing Vicario and some of his teammates.

Wilson responded, “There’s a confrontation between me and the goalkeeper,” when questioned about it.

“There’s a way to win isn’t there,” Wilson responded when questioned about the altercation with the goalie. I believe we witnessed it the week that Pickford was acting strangely and Everton was winning.

“When the goalie goes up for a header, he starts making faces and fiddling around, and I felt that this was just disrespectful.” We’re grown men now, and we move on after I said my piece.

Following Wilson’s remarks on social media, Vicario responded with brevity of his own. “Respect is given… to everyone that respects me,” he wrote.

Spurs decisively and mercilessly defeated Eddie Howe’s team. The North Londoners had lost four of their previous five games against Chelsea, Wolves, Aston Villa, and West Ham United.

But Richarlison and Destiny Udogie both scored in the first half, and the latter then doubled his total for the match in the second. In the 85th minute, Son Heung-Min secured the win with a skillfully executed penalty kick.

Joelinton scored a late consolation goal in added time, making it impossible for Vicario to maintain a clean sheet.
