Kieran Trippier of Newcastle United is expected to be available for tonight’s (8 p.m.) away Carabao Cup quarterfinal match against Chelsea.

Since the beginning of the previous campaign, the England right-back has started every Premier League match for the Magpies. However, he was suspended and missed Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Fulham.

The 33-year-old’s one-match ban for receiving five yellow cards came just in time as an injury caused him to leave last Wednesday’s play against AC Milan after an hour.

Trippier uploaded a matchday image to his official Instagram profile this evening, hinting at a possible return for the visit to Stamford Bridge this evening after taking the weekend off.

Newcastle, who made it to the League Cup final the previous season, is hoping to go one step further into the semi-finals.

Naturally, the Magpies lost 2-0 to Manchester United at Wembley, but Eddie Howe is determined to leave the campaign with more victories after eliminating the Red Devils and Manchester City.

During his pre-game press conference, Howe stated, “The beauty of the two games we’ve had previously is we’ve proven we can raise our game against the top teams in a cup competition that brought so many great memories for us last year.” “We’re committed to working toward advancement and making more memories.

We’ve witnessed the benefits and experiences that are available.

“It was fantastic to witness our supporters and how we embraced London and the entire spectacle in the lead-up to the final, even though the final itself was disappointing. I’m just so sad that we were unable to cross the line in the end.

“I believe it has benefited us for this year. We know the game will be extremely challenging, but we also know the reward if we succeed.”
