The legendary Roy Keane of Manchester United, well renowned for his remarkable time spent with the Red Devils, shocked many when he disclosed he was a Tottenham Hotspur fan.

Since he notably guided them to a treble-winning season in 1999, he is regarded as one of their greatest players and leaders of all time.

He won seven league titles, four FA Cups, and the Champions League during his 13 years with the team. Nevertheless, he backs a different team.

In response to an edition of the Stick to Football podcast featuring former Arsenal player Ian Wright challenging Keane and Gary Neville for making fun of Arsenal’s hardships, Keane revealed whose team he genuinely cheers for.

“I am a Spurs fan!” he exclaimed. Although I played for Manchester United, my team is Spurs.

Respected as one of United’s best players and a pivotal role in their historic season of winning the treble, Keane has been outspoken in his criticism of Tottenham over the years.

Although many have been taken aback by his remarks, it appears that he has previously expressed his affinity for the Spurs.

He acknowledged in 2015 at a charity event that he developed a soft spot for Spurs since he looked up to stars like Clive Allen and Glen Hoddle as a child.
