French center defender Jean-Clair Todibo may not be available for Tottenham Hotspur, per trade guru Fabrizio Romano.

Spurs are desperate to get a new center back during the January transfer window, and Ange Postecoglou hopes to accomplish so in the coming days.

There have apparently been discussions between them and the defender, a 24-year-old who plays for Nice in Ligue 1. Spurs feel that it will be difficult to negotiate a deal for Todibo at this time, but they are in a desperate situation as they require a defender right away.

Romano currently asserts on X that the timing is the primary reason why the “Todibo deal could collapse soon.”

Spurs are not in a position to hold out on a contract for Todibo, even though the world-class defender would have been a great addition to the team given that two of their starting defenders are presently sidelined with injuries.

According to Romano, the Spurs will make their “first verbal bid” for Dragusin soon and will work to quickly arrange a deal.

Spurs aren’t prepared to put all of their eggs in one basket, which is why players like Ben Godfrey, Tosin Adarabioyo, Lloyd Kelly, and Sebastian Caceres are now being watched, according to a report from 90min.

Tottenham has launched an attempt to sign Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher in an effort to boost other areas of the pitch.
