After it was revealed this week that Timo Werner had joined Tottenham Hotspur as their first acquisition of the January transfer window, Darren Bent has made his assessment of the player.

Timo Werner returning to the Premier League this month was not something that many people had anticipated. He obviously had a bad experience at Chelsea. Furthermore, he hasn’t exactly taken the world by storm since joining RB Leipzig again.

However, Tottenham saw an opening when Heung-min Son left on an international assignment. The Germany international has joined Spurs on a temporary loan for the duration of the current campaign.

Darren Bent worries about signing with Tottenham Timo Werner Angst Since taking over, Postecoglou has seen some incredible performances from his players. Possibly the greatest goalie in the Premier League is Guglielmo Vicario. Meanwhile, Destiny Udogie, the left-back, has had a similar experience.

And although Werner does not have the best record, Darren Bent, an Arsenal fan, acknowledged on talkSPORT that he is a little worried.

To begin with, he poses a threat. That, I believe, is why it unnerves me. I am aware that he was terrible in front of goal for Chelsea. However, before to that, you can review his record with RB Leipzig: 213 games, 113 goals. That isn’t all that horrible. That’s not at all awful,” he remarked.

“I understand that the Premier League and getting to Chelsea didn’t really work for him.

That tempo is one thing you cannot dispute. And because he moves quickly, that pace presented issues. Even though he wasn’t the most productive player at Chelsea, there’s still something about him that unnerves me.

“I believe Spurs made a smart signing with him. He can play left or right, or he may play down the center. because, while being only 27, he is also versatile. He’s starting to lose his shine.

Spurs are free to take a chance.

Werner’s signing represents scarcely the biggest risk for Tottenham. Naturally, Spurs supporters will be wishing they had added another attacker if it fails.

However, the transfer is not too costly for a team the size of Tottenham. Furthermore, Werner is not required to sign with Spurs permanently if he doesn’t make an impression.

So, Postecoglou’s men’s dice roll is unquestionably worthwhile. Furthermore, considering that Spurs are just a few points outside of the top four following a terrible run of injury luck, teams like Arsenal and Aston Villa will undoubtedly be watching them closely to see what Spurs can accomplish in the second half of the season.
