Journo discusses his impression on Richarlison, a Tottenham player, and his mindset.

Richarlison of Tottenham Hotspur is deemed “unpredictable” by Sami Mokbel.

On The Spurs Chat Podcast, chief football writer for The Daily Mail Sami Mokbel discussed the enigmatic nature of Richarlison, a player for Tottenham Hotspur. The Brazilian striker’s recent experiences supported the assertions made by the football expert.

Now that he has scored six goals in his previous seven games, the Spurs striker has reached his purple patch. Conversely, he went over eighteen months without a goal. In addition to being aggressive on the field, the striker may be seen performing the pigeon celebration. Mokbel declares:

Indeed, the Saudi League has expressed interest and there has been. That’s historical, and I think that will materialize and be discussed once more, but from what I gather, Richarlison is a competitive person. Although Saudi Arabia offers excellent money, some athletes are already returning home with regrets.

The journalist thinks Richarlison will eventually join the Saudi Pro League, but he also says the Brazilian may decline because he is an overconfident player.

Richarlison: The embodiment of tenacity

A glance at Richarlison’s career graph reveals clear progress. The forward, who was born in Espirito Santo, has only joined a larger club than his previous one. Between 2015 and 2018, Richarlison moved three clubs around in an effort to pursue better opportunities.

He spent four seasons with the Everton Toffees after settling in. He had a great time working with his former Watford boss, Marco Silva, after their reunion. He agreed to a five-year contract extension with the Merseysiders, but when Spurs called, he abandoned them like a bag of potatoes.

The Brazilian had a terrible start to life in North London, scoring only one goal in 27 league outings. Following Harry Kane’s departure prior to the 2023–24 season, Richarlison was left to shoulder the responsibility, which he didn’t do well. Out of the first twelve games, he managed just one goal.

Is it still necessary for us to comprehend why Sami Mokbel referred to him as “enigmatic”?
