Valspar Championship: Keith Mitchell eagles last hole to seize two-shot lead going into the final day

Heading into the final day of the Valspar Championship in Miami, Keith Mitchell will lead by two shots.

With a round of 66 that put him two shots ahead of Seamus Power, Mackenzie Hughes, and Peter Malnati and 10 under par for the tournament, the American soared to the top of the leaderboard.

Although he had two birdies on the front nine, Mitchell’s day did not start off as he had hoped. However, a tremendous recovery on the back nine put him in the lead going into the fourth round.

After making a birdie on hole 12, Mitchell moved into gear. He then made more birdies on holes 14, 16, and 17, which set him up for a tremendous eagle on the final hole that sent him to the top of the leaderboard.

Power, Malnati, and Hughes, the co-leader overnight, shot 68 and 69, respectively, to share second place on eight under.

Brendon Todd, Cameron Young, and Chandler Phillips are all one shot behind on seven under for the title.
