Tottenham have been dealt an injury blow ahead of their game against Manchester City after Yves Bissouma was ruled out with a knee problem.

Ange Postecoglou has confirmed the midfielder will miss the final two matches of the season after suffering an injury in Saturday’s 2-1 win against Burnley.

“Bissouma picked up a knee injury in the last game and he’s out for the season,” said Postecoglou, who also confirmed that Richarlison will miss the rest of the season with his calf injury.

On the Brazilian, he added: “Not good, he’ll miss the next two games. Nothing serious but enough to keep him out for the next two games.”

Asked whether Richarlison, who last week was left out of the Brazil squad for this summer’s Copa America, would be fit for the post-season friendly against Newcastle in Melbourne on May 22, Postecoglou said: “The whole group will travel to Australia unless there’s medical treatment needed. He wouldn’t be fit for the game.

“He’ll probably miss three or four weeks from what I understand.”

Tottenham are already without the likes of Destiny Udogie, Ben Davies, Timo Werner, Manor Solomon, Fraser Forster and Ryan Sessegnon for the final week of the season, when they face Manchester City and Sheffield United in a bid to challenge rivals Aston Villa for fourth place and that final Champions League qualification spot for next season.

While the loss of Bissouma is another considerable blow, Postecoglou is confident that Tottenham have the midfield options to compensate for his absence.

“We’ve got some options in here, Pierre [Hojbjerg] and Rodri [Bentancur] came on the other night to replace Biss and did well, and [Oliver] Skippy’s an option,” he said.
