Sesko up for Arsenal move

Arsenal have been handed a massive boost to their hopes of signing RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. The forward favours a move to North London this summer.

The German side would be open to selling Sesko in the near future if they can broker the right deal for him. While Arsenal are in pole position, they could face competition from Chelsea and Manchester United.

Sesko is also not the only striker that Arteta’s side have looked at ahead of the summer transfer. Ajax star Brian Bobbey and Brighton frontman Evan Ferguson are also options for the Gunners.

Aubameyang slams Arteta

On the topic of strikers, former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed Mikel Arteta accused him of ‘putting a knife in his back’. The Gabon international was stripped of the Arsenal captaincy before being shipped out to Barcelona.

Opening up on the incident, Aubameyang said: “My mother a few months before had a stroke, it was going to be Christmas time so I went to see the coach and I said to him: ‘Coach, I’m coming to see you because I’d like to leave, I’m going to go pick up my mother to bring her back for the holidays.’ He tells me no problem.”

“I arrive, the coach finishes his meeting and then he grabs me and he completely tears into me, he shouts at me like I’m crazy, he says: ‘You put a knife in my back. You can’t do that to me given the times we’re going through.’ At that moment I tell myself that I’m not going to answer him because it’s going to end angrily.”

Watkins reveals dream transfer

From a former Arsenal striker to a potentially future one now, with Ollie Watkins having confirmed his “dream” transfer would be to North London. Speaking at the London Football Awards in 2020, he said: “That’s the dream to play for Arsenal one day.

“But it’s a long shot. It’s only because my family support them and stuff like that. But that’s a long-term [goal].”

Watkins is fresh off the back of arguably one of his most productive seasons for Aston Villa. He scored 27 goals and provided 13 assists for the side in all competitions throughout the campaign.
