Clive Allen, a former player for Tottenham Hotspur, has now acknowledged that he has entirely changed his mind about one of the team’s recent acquisitions.

In his morning speech on talkSPORT, Allen stated that all concerns have now been fully allayed.

The pundit was alluding to Guglielmo Vicario of Spurs, who signed a summer contract worth £17 million.

Furthermore, Allen isn’t the first to point out that Vicario appeared uneasy when he first arrived.

Now, though, the amount paid appears like a steal for a 27-year-old who is getting better every game.

Regarding his development, Allen stated: “I have to admit that I wasn’t convinced at first; there was a slight uneasiness in the way he started.”

“However, I believe his confidence has increased, and he is now commanding his penalty box—something a goalie must always have.”

He provides excellent support for the back line, and his excellent starting positions are a major talking point when it comes to Spurs’ high line play.

“I have to say, he has been a huge find, as his shot-stopping abilities are unparalleled.”

Regarding Guglielmo Vicario’s signing with Tottenham, Clive Allen has completely changed his mind.

Allen is, of course, extremely familiar with goalkeepers, having scored 49 goals in a single season for Spurs in the past.

And no stronger endorsement could exist than that of a striker, who has an innate ability to spot a goalie’s weaknesses.

Vicario’s arrival has proved to be a very astute one, a player who was willing to take responsibility immediately.

And had Spurs not signed Vicario, they could have easily ended up a lot worse off with another option they were pursuing.

However, with all the absences Tottenham have had of late, Vicario has been a vital pillar of consistency.

There’s no doubt he can still improve his game, but these first few months have been very promising.

And in truth, many have followed the same thought process as Clive Allen with the new Tottenahm signing.

It was never going to be easy to replace Hugo Lloris, but Vicario does seem the man for the task.

And if all continues to go to plan, Vicario will hope to have a legacy similar to that of the former France captain, albeit one littered with a few more trophies.
