Prior to their matchup with Ipswich Town on Saturday, Jobi McAnuff feels that Leeds United is the team under greater pressure.

Leeds, who have lost their past two games against Sunderland and Coventry City, enter the game 10 points behind the Tractor Boys in second place.

In light of Leeds’ incredible start to the season following their promotion from League One, and their upcoming matchup with Ipswich at Elland Road on Saturday, McAnuff’s fellow Sky Sports pundit Andy Hinchcliffe thinks Leeds should be “worried.”

After Leicester City’s 3-2 victory over Birmingham City on Monday, McAnuff said on Sky Sports that Leeds would be under pressure and couldn’t afford to miss chances to get closer.

“You have to seize opportunities when they arise to close that gap,” he stated. Leeds is now the club that is pursuing, so there is even more pressure because you know you can’t afford to keep giving up points when the advantage is this large.

“They’re under pressure, but it all depends on how they react, and they need to win to move up to second place.”

Leeds must triumph on Saturday.

Even at this stage of the season, Leeds cannot afford to lose on Saturday and drop 13 points behind Ipswich in second place. Daniel Farke may not acknowledge this in public.

It is nearly impossible for Ipswich to close such a deficit because they haven’t shown that they will go on too many losing streaks over the season.

Ethan Ampadu, Pascal Struijk, and Djed Spence of Leeds United.

Recently, Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon, his Wales international teammate, expressed their lack of concern with the disparity at this time.

But they will know in their hearts that the gap cannot afford to slip away from them if Leeds are to have any chance of earning automatic promotion.

Leeds should hope that this shows in their performance on Saturday, as they should come out swinging and win.
