The Galatasaray player, who has been on a roll this season, Kerem Akturkoglu, is the most recent name to be linked to a move to Leeds United. On Wednesday night, he scored the game-winning goal in a victory over Karagumruk.

The 25-year-old Akturkoglu has had a stellar season. He scored his eighth goal of the 23–24 on Wednesday night, bringing his total to 16 goal involvements in 28 games. Scored twice in the match against Manchester United.

Although Leeds does have options for offence, Akturkoglu might be the no. 10 Leeds needs to enter the game and relieve some of Joel Piroe’s pressure. In the summer, Leeds made an attempt to sign a player for that position.

This week, it was reported that Leeds and Galatasaray had held “frequent” conversations over the past two weeks, although the latter club is unwilling to sell. Lazio is likewise eager. His contract expires in June 2026.

Leeds will maintain an interest in Akturkoglu until the summer if they are unable to acquire him in January, since it is estimated that he would cost £13 million. Wednesday night, Akturkoglu maintained his excellent performance.

Kerem Akturkoglu, a target for Leeds, wins on Wednesday.

The Karamgumruk custodian parried a long-range effort from Kerem Demirbay, and Akturkoglu was there to tip the rebound into the net. Galatasaray was the first to respond, and they managed to win 1-0.

An outstanding conclusion, possibly additional justification for Leeds to try and test Galatasaray’s commitment in the winter window, but also for them to want to hold onto him. He is the shining light in a side full of stars.

The Leeds target is standing out on a team that also features Mauro Icardi, Wilf Zaha, Hakim Ziyech, Lucas Torreira, and other players. As it stands, it appears that Galatasaray will prevail in the struggle to hold him.
