During the January transfer window, Newcastle United is eager to sign Brahim Diaz, an attacker for Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old winger is reportedly being watched by a Premier League team, and they are prepared to pay €60 million (£52 million) to sign him, according to a report by Fichajes.

This season, the gifted young winger has four goals and two assists in all competitions. But with the Spanish team, he has had trouble getting consistent playing time. Just 508 minutes of first-team football have been played by Diaz in La Liga; more plays are need for him to reach his full ability.

The 24-year-old can play as a center offensive midfielder or on either flank, depending on the situation. He might change Newcastle in the long run by bringing goals and inventiveness to the closing third.

Diaz would be a wise long-term addition for Newcastle, who need to add more offensive depth. For the former Manchester City player, moving to the Premier League might also be the best option. He could play more frequently and restart his career that way.

At this point in his career, Diaz cannot afford to be a bench warmer for a major league team, so it will be interesting to watch how things play out.

For a player who isn’t a consistent starter, €60 million is a sizable offer, therefore it wouldn’t be shocking if Real Madrid felt pressured to sell the player once the offer was made.
