To be honest, Ange Postecoglou’s first season at Spurs has been truly amazing. After all the ups and downs under the last few coaches the club hired, few could have predicted that the Australian would not only be able to add oil to our troubled waters but also attempt to emulate his success in lower leagues abroad.

Obviously, a major contributing aspect to this early success has been adding one or two players who fit the news gaffers’ fast-paced, free-flowing football style.

The strengthening of our defense has been as important as Tottenham’s creative core of James Maddison, Yves Bissouma, and Pape Sarr. The impact of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven has been immense.

but that side of things is far from complete.

One name mentioned increasingly as a ‘name in the frame’ has been that of Nice’s centre back, Todibo.

Football London says that this is one deal that is already being explored.

“Spurs have a big interest in Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo and have held talks with the Ligue 1 club about the 23-year-old. However, with the young French international widely acknowledged as one of the best young defensive prospects in Europe with top clubs across the continent and in the Premier League after him, Nice could hold out for a summer bidding war for the player…”

What is likely to influence any decision by the French side, is who they use might replace the 23-year-old. Looking at this season so far, Rosario and Mendy have both commanded spots in his spot for Nice.

It would be great if Spurs could get this deal done next month and provide us with added insurance against Romero’s ongoing discipline issues!
