Tottenham may add a new forward and defense to their roster as they aim to wrap up business early in January.

The acquisition of a defender is Spurs’ first priority

According to reports, the club is currently pursuing Radu Dragusin as their top target, however Jean-Clair Todibo is still being pursued.

But moving forward, Ange Postecoglou is also seeking to bolster his squad, and 90Min reports that Tottenham is optimistic about acquiring Jota, a former Celtic forward.

The Portuguese player has already been connected to Spurs, and it appears that a deal may be reached.

Tottenham is optimistic about signing Jota.

Spurs are rumored to believe they can close a deal for Jota and are looking to provide Ange Postecoglou with extra choices come January.

Jota is being pursued for a loan agreement, which may eventually lead to a permanent arrangement.

Postecoglou, of course, is familiar with Jota from his Celtic days.

After moving to Saudi Arabia, the 24-year-old has struggled, and Al-Ittihad, his team, is willing to let the winger go in January.

Tottenham will lose players in January due to the Asia Cup and AFCON, in addition to the numerous injuries they have experienced this season.

Jota gives Spurs more depth.

Jota may provide Tottenham with the options they need to make an impression, as Postecoglou’s relentless style of play demands.

Even if things didn’t work out for him in Saudi Arabia, he proved to be a major player and creator of memorable moments while playing for Celtic under Ange.

Jota, who was hailed as having “incredible” skill while he was in Scotland, would be a great addition for Spurs as they look to bolster.

Although Postecoglou has players like Kulusevski, Son, and Brennan Johnson, adding Jota makes a lot of sense in the near term at least, given Son is away at the Asia Cup.
