Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham Hotspur appear to be moving quickly during the January transfer window.

Spurs reportedly only need to agree on a cost with Genoa in order to finalize a deal for center-back Radu Dragusin.

It doesn’t appear, though, that their transfer activity will end there.

The goal for January has been to sign a defender, but Postecoglou also wants to bolster his team with an attacker and a midfielder.

Having said that, writer Ben Jacobs disclosed a really interesting request Tottenham made of one Premier League striker.

During his appearance on the “Last Word on Spurs” podcast, Jacobs discussed a few potential summer goals.

And in the process, he verified that Dominic Solanke of Bournemouth had been the subject of a transfer request from Postecoglou’s Tottenham team.

“If they’ve succeeded in that [signing a center-back], then the priorities change when the summer arrives,” Jacobs stated.

However, I believe that the summer will be a little more focused; they’ll either want a profile similar to Dominic Solanke or want to compete for an Ivan Toney, should he become available.

I’m not claiming they are specific Spurs targets, though Solanke has undoubtedly been contacted.

Spurs inquire about Dominic Solanke, as Ange Postecoglou wants to move forward

It would be difficult to argue against the benefits of adding Dominic Solanke given his recent performance.

In 19 Premier League games this season, the 26-year-old has scored 12 goals, which is quite amazing.

Perhaps Solanke is now hitting the growth curve that many expected to come earlier in his career.

Although, a reported asking price of £50m may still look a little expensive for a player who has failed to score consistently prior to the last few months.

However, it certainly seems as if Solanke will have a ton of suitors if he is seen as available next summer.

And with all that Tottenham and Postecoglou need to achieve in January, this does seem that any transfer for Solanke would be explored after the season.

Conor Gallagher is a name that won’t go away for the current window, although it seems he wouldn’t be too keen on a move.

Moreover, it also may surprise some fans to hear that Tottenham are no longer interested in a £25m forward heavily linked with the side.
