Luke Ayling has sent a message to Pascal Struijk, who will take over as Leeds United’s captain going forward. The right-back is currently on loan at Middlesbrough until the end of the season.

After spending seven and a half years and nearly 300 appearances with Leeds, Ayling has left the team. He goes on to play for Michael Carrick, staying with them through the remainder of the season. The summer is when his Leeds contract expires.

Even though Ayling will still be under Leeds’ contract until the end of the season, he makes it obvious in his social media message that he knows this is likely the end. Others, including Pablo Hernandez, answered.

Leeds has been led by Struijk for the majority of the season. Struijk has worn the armband since Liam Cooper and Ayling are having trouble breaking into the squad. Ayling will be our vice captain going forward.

Ayling responded to a message that Struijk posted on his Instagram story. The veteran responded to Ayling’s departure by ordering Struijk, a left-footed center back, to “go be a leader, big fella.” Continue developing and shining.

Struijk has performed admirably, displaying the kind of fierce, devoted, and gutsy play expected of a captain. He’s done a fantastic job with the armband. renowned at Leeds for being a subdued leader.

He will never have Ayling’s personality again. However, he can still lead and captain the team just as well as Ayling, only in a different capacity. Struijk is undoubtedly going to be essential if Leeds manage to advance.

Struijk should be able to play this weekend at Cardiff City, where Leeds is aiming for a third straight victory after winning the FA Cup over Peterborough and Birmingham City.
