After being stung by Joao Palhinha during the summer transfer window, Thomas Tuchel, the manager of Bayern Munich, has declined to acknowledge that the team is nearing the signing of Eric Dier from Tottenham.

According to Christian Falk, the Bayern manager stated today, “We know from experience that that doesn’t mean anything.” However, we’re attempting to sign him,” the statement saying Dier was in Munich for a checkup said.

The player’s transfer from Tottenham has accelerated now that they are expected to sign Radu Dragusin. He was seen arriving at Bayern to have a medical.

After rarely making an appearance for Ange Postecoglou in the first half of this season, Dier has been strongly linked to a move away from Spurs for months.

In order to offer Tuchel the defensive addition he has been seeking for months, Bayern moved to sign him this week, negotiating a cheap deal with Tottenham.

Nevertheless, given what transpired with Palhinha throughout the summer, it appears he isn’t getting ahead of himself.

On the final day of the summer transfer season, Bayern believed they had acquired the Portuguese star from Fulham. The player flew to Munich, underwent a physical, and even appeared in the traditional announcement pictures.

But Fulham refused to sell after they failed to find a replacement on the last day of the window, thus the transaction was called off at the last minute.

That broke Palhinha’s heart, saddened Thomas Tuchel and Bayern, and supposedly taught the German coach to be quiet about Dier’s upcoming Tottenham transfer.
