Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle, is currently having to put out fires in order to keep the Magpies winning.
The club is now trying to stabilize its Premier League results and launch an attack on the top four. The news that Joelinton would miss six weeks due to an injury is simply another setback.
🚨⚪️⚫️ Bad news for Newcastle, one more injury as Joelinton will be out for 6️⃣ weeks.
“He’s set to miss a minimum of six weeks, it is a real blow for us. He has a problem with his tendon in his quad. He is very disappointed”, says Eddie Howe. pic.twitter.com/BgrHN5VkSb

In addition to having 10 players on the treatment table, as Premier Injuries points out, Howe has also had to cope with additional staff members missing in recent weeks.
⚫️⚪️ Eddie Howe on loan deals: “I think there’s value in the loan market, but I’m not sure there is for us”.
“We’re in a moment where I don’t think we have many friends in the market. I’m not sure anyone wants to help us out”. pic.twitter.com/YMQ9HuyscZ

Given that Newcastle’s severe injury worries would have tested even the greatest teams in the division, it’s understandable that they were unable to launch a Champions League campaign.
Howe needs to be up to date on any transfer rumors that may surface in January in addition to the guys he can’t depend on.
