An update on the transfer of Tottenham Hotspur winger Ivan Perisic has been provided by Fabrizio Romano.

Speaking on X on Friday night, Romano stated that Hajduk Split is still interested in signing the Spurs attacker in January.

The Croatian table-toppers are reportedly “still dreaming” of Perisic as their primary goal, according to the transfer insider.

Romano went on, “Understand that they will do everything in their power to close the deal in January.”

The Italian added that Perisic’s ACL injury recovery is progressing nicely and that “a lot depends” on the doctors’ assessment of his likelihood of making a comeback by May.

It appears doubtful that Ivan Perisic will rejoin Tottenham Hotspur as a player.

Because Perisic’s contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ends at the end of the current campaign, his future is still up in the air.

The £180,000-a-week Spurs player, who started his career at the team, has been linked to the Croatian table-toppers in recent months.

For example, Sportske Novosti reported in September that Hajduk and Tottenham had a verbal agreement in place for the transfer of Perisic.

Mislav Karoglan, the manager of Hajduk, recently expressed his happiness to the Dalmatinski Portal about his club’s potential to sign the Spurs left-footer.

We’ll see in the upcoming weeks what transpires. Ange Postecoglou’s remarks from a week ago suggest that Perisic is unlikely to play for Tottenham again, but it’s unclear if a January transfer would occur.

Before joining Sochaux in 2006 and starting an incredible career at the top of European football, Perisic played for Hajduk’s for six years.

The Spurs star has won numerous awards, such as the German double with Borussia Dortmund in 2012, the Serie A title with Inter in 2021, and the treble with Bayern Munich in 2020.

After joining Tottenham in the summer of 2022, Perisic has made 50 appearances in league play for the Lilywhites.
