James Maddison’s comeback to action, according to Tottenham expert John Wenham, will be a “phenomenal” boost for the team.

The English midfielder missed ten games due to an ankle injury that kept him out of action since November.

In his first 11 games as a Spurs player, Maddison had a fantastic debut, tallying 3 goals and 6 assists. However, in a November match against Chelsea, he suffered the injury.

Postecoglou has seen Maddison’s goal contributions have been lacking, so he’s probably excited to hear of his return.

Paul O Keefe, a dependable Spurs insider and writer, recently provided a favorable update on the England international, stating that he will resume full training the following week.

John Wenham, a Spurs expert, has recently reiterated similar views, stating that Tottenham will greatly benefit from his return.

He also mentioned Micky van de Ven and James Maddison as two players who drastically change the potential of Spurs.

He commented in an interview with Tottenham News:

“Until his injury, this man was arguably the Premier League’s player of the season,” the statement reads.

“His leadership, goals, and assists were greatly contributing to every performance and every game, so it will be amazing to have him back.”

“It would be fantastic if Maddison could return before our FA Cup matches against Manchester City and Brentford in the league.

“All of a sudden, barring the three players who are away on international duty, we may have nearly a complete squad going into those games.

“Maddison and Micky van de Ven make us a whole other proposition.

“After the last few months, it is easy to forget that we were dominating teams in the season’s first ten games with those two healthy and on the field.”

Says TBH:

The vice captain of the team’s comeback would undoubtedly provide Tottenham a big boost. When we had a totally healthy starting lineup for the first ten games of the season, we looked invincible.

And we have reason to be optimistic about what this Spurs team will produce as we approach the goal of having our starting lineup fully healthy again.
