Tottenham News is happy to welcome John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose as our exclusive writer. He will provide his professional analysis on the most talked-about topics at Spurs every week.

John Wenham thinks Ivan Perisic, a winger for Tottenham, will sign with Hajduk Split this month and quit the team.

After sustaining an injury earlier in the season, Perisic played his last game for Spurs, as Tottenham News exclusively disclosed last month on December 20.

The 34-year-old appears certain to return to his childhood club, Hajduk Split, since his contract with Spurs is likely to expire in the summer. The sporting director of Hajduk Split has confirmed that “there is dialogue” with the North London team.

It’s too early; Ivan is injured. We need to wait and see when he feels better so we can play and run with him,” he remarked. as reported by (SportSport via Sport Witness, 3 January).

We have the advantage that this transfer window is open till the middle of February. Tottenham and I are in communication, and we will decide what’s best for everyone.

Wenham thinks the sporting director of Hajduk’s remarks suggest a departure this month.

“I still think there will be plenty of permanent sales and loan moves in January, starting with Perisic, I believe he will leave the club this month,” Wenham stated in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News.

“We saw that the sporting director of Hajduk Split made those remarks, clearly stating that the Croatian transfer market is open until February 15th.

Perisic isn’t quite ready yet, but they’ll continue to assess the issue. If he doesn’t depart within the next month—which I still think he will—he will undoubtedly leave the team when his contract expires in the summer.
