Now that they’re in the running for a top-four spot in the Premier League, Aston Villa may target more players in the transfer market than they have in the past. And because of that, several players—including a Championship star—have been connected to Villa Park moves this month.

News about Aston Villa transfers

The Midlands club Aston Villa has been connected to enhancing their assault in the most recent transfer news. Some players that have been linked to Unai Emery at Villa Park this month include Felipe Anderson and Giovanni Reyna. Fabrizio Romano claims that Villa and Red Star Belgrade are nearing a deal for Kosta Nedeljkovic, who will sign the right-back on loan until the end of the current campaign.

At the end of December, Emery discussed the possibility of January arrivals and stated:

“I am extremely satisfied, but we are analyzing and meeting with the owners and Monchi (president of football operations) to see how we can adjust and enhance the team.

“We may make some changes, but not drastically—only if we can obtain something that will truly be beneficial. We will keep an eye out to see if we can expand the team, but for now, we are content with the players we have because they are doing quality work, are dedicated, and our competitive system is working well. I’m not sure if we’ll receive anything during the transfer window.

A Championship star is among those who could be of great assistance. Reliable writer John Percy of The Telegraph claims that when Middlesbrough rejected their initial offer, NSWE and Aston Villa, and consequently NSWE’s owners, made a second bid for Morgan Rogers. Admitting that Villa haven’t had any luck this time either, Percy tweeted the news on X.

The Rogers deal is definitely one to watch this month, with Boro continuing to be obstinate and Villa continuing to pursue the player.

Rogers is a “dangerous” one for the future.

Rogers, who is only 21 years old, might only get better with experience, and joining Aston Villa could hasten that process. The youthful forward, who spent time playing for Manchester City before settling in at Middlesbrough, may now have the opportunity to achieve Premier League redemption by joining Villa Park.

Rogers’ versatility, which allows him to play all frontline positions and provide Villa some attacking depth, stands out as a quality that could prove to be immensely helpful for Emery for the balance of the season. But Boro’s manager, Michael Carrick, won’t want to see his forward go, and following his team’s most recent victory over West Bromwich Albion, the Manchester United icon was all love for Rogers.

“He creates, he’s dangerous,” stated Carrick. He is incredibly talented. It’s a pleasure working with him because he is driven to contribute to the team and always wants to learn and improve. He’s demonstrating his talent and has a great attitude toward the game. He is clearly developing here, feeling comfortable and like he belongs, and his growth is constant.
