The Swedish media now supports Aston Villa’s quest to sign Elfsborg’s Hákon Rafn Valdimarsson.

The 22-year-old is reportedly a target for Unai Emery’s team, according to previous reports, which Aftonbladet now claims to have verified.

The Aston Villa target, with whom the Swedish publication had the opportunity to chat, concluded that he is a highly sought-after player during the transfer window.

There are now a lot of clubs showing interest. We’ll have to wait and see. I pay attention to the options.

When particularly questioned about Aston Villa, Valdimarsson expressed his admiration for the English team.

It’s sizable. They play really well and are one of the best clubs in the Premier League. It’s wonderful to see their level of curiosity. It demonstrates my strong play from the previous season.

Afonbladet notes that Valdimarsson would have competition at Aston Villa because they currently have Emiliano Martínez and Robin Olsen in goal, but the young player says he would be thrilled to work with such accomplished players.

That might be the case. Top players and the best caliber of all are present. It is beneficial to train with some of the top players in the world.

After that, the goalie considered his options.

“FCK, another large club, is also of interest. They have participated in the Champions League for the past two years. It’s arguably the largest squad in Scandinavia. Even though it’s not as large as the Premier League, it would still be an improvement.

In addition, Aftonbladet was able to get in contact with Stefan Andreasson, the head of Elfsborg, who informed the publication that Valdimarsson’s signing is facing some competition.

Numerous teams have expressed interest in Hakon Valdimarsson.

That is the reality. Although at times it seems as though he has outgrown the Allsvenskan outfit, it is not a certain that he will move. Many things need to be correct.

The publication also quotes the Danish newspaper BT, which reports Elfsborg is requesting little less than £2.25 million for the player.
