A man who would be the ideal James Maddison partner is apparently being eyed by Tottenham Hotspur as they look to cap off a successful January transfer window in style.

News about Tottenham transfers

Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin were both signed by the Lilywhites this month in an effort to provide Ange Postecoglou a significant boost on both ends of the field. However, rumors that the North London club is interested in Antonio Nusa suggest they might not be done yet. According to reports, Spurs are in the lead to sign the talented winger this month for a potential £25 million deal. They have also been connected to a move to capture Ederson, a midfielder for Atalanta, and Adam Wharton, a promising player for Blackburn Rovers.

Although it’s unclear if Spurs will close any more transactions before the transfer window closes, it doesn’t appear like their shortlist is devoid of possible targets. It appears that Sebastian Szymanski, who has so far had a standout season in his first campaign at Fenerbahce, has joined that list as another fresh target.

Spurs ‘would do everything’ to sign Szymanski, according to Turkish publication Askam, and they will send scouts to see the offensive midfielder against Samsunspor. Postecoglou is rumored to be a huge fan of the Polish midfielder, and if the North London team wants to sign him this month or during the summer transfer window, they may have to shell out as much as €35 million (£30 million).

Spurs may still look to Szymanski to bolster Postecoglou’s team’s offensive midfield in the last days of the transfer window, despite reports that they are seeking to add a more defensive midfield player this month based on links with Ederson and Wharton. Szymanski, who is having a great season in Turkey, is definitely someone to keep an eye on over the next few days.

“Superb” Szymanski is a rising star.

Szymanski’s numbers show that he is a player at the height of his game and that he could easily join Maddison at Spurs as the ideal companion. The Fenerbahce midfielder has already contributed to 26 goals this season across all competitions, with 12 goals and 14 assists, more than piqueing the interest of people in North London. Jacek Kulig of Football Talent Scout, who gave the midfielder high marks during his Dynamo Moscow days, will undoubtedly be pleased with his progress. Kulig made a post on X:

Another noteworthy quality about Szymanski is his adaptability. The 24-year-old’s versatility as a right winger, attacking midfielder, and central midfielder might help Postecoglou at three different positions. But, the Lilywhites must act quickly to secure the Fenerbahce star this month since the transfer window is closing.
