Recently, Brenden Aaronson, a free agent, was named by the new £8.5 million Leeds target as his “favorite” number seven.

After a miserable 18 months after regaining his starting place in Union Berlin’s lineup, Brenden Aaronson appears to be beginning to turn the corner, and Leeds United target Mark McKenzie has lauded him.

After making an impression with Salzburg, Aaronson, 23, joined Leeds with his stock at an all-time high. The USA player, a two-time Austrian champion, had shown promise in the Champions League before to his £25 million transfer to Leeds.

He only managed one goal in 40 games while at Leeds, and his lack of physicality was frequently mentioned. His performance at Union has also not been up to par in the first half of the season; in his 20 appearances, he has neither assisted nor scored.

He was even dismissed. However, he scored in a friendly match against Bielefeld after the year began and started Union’s first competitive match of 2024, which finished in a respectable 0-0 tie with Freiburg.

Aaronson was substituted off after 69 minutes of play. On Monday night, he posted several images from the “2024 season so far” on Instagram. With any luck, this will be the year he finally puts up a fight.

Mark McKenzie, a target for Leeds, compliments Brenden Aaronson

Leeds has been mentioned as a potential £8.5 million suitor for McKenzie. A player who excelled at Philadelphia under Aaronson, McKenzie has talked about how much he enjoys playing with the man who owns Leeds.

The uncertainty surrounding Charlie Cresswell’s future suggests that the Whites may need to acquire a new center defender. At the conclusion of the season, Liam Cooper’s contract expires, and it is unlikely that he will be offered a new one.

Given their friendship, McKenzie might be the man who shows up in Leeds, and Aaronson would undoubtedly offer him a high recommendation. McKenzie answered Aaronson’s most recent Instagram post on Monday night.
