Jamal Lewis’s response to Newcastle’s announced departure on deadline day.

Despite all of the speculation this month about players possibly leaving Newcastle United, nothing happened during the January transfer window.

Due to FFP issues and the lack of new players joining Newcastle, a lot of the rumours revolved on players possibly leaving.

Although Jamaal Lascelles might have joined Besiktas, most of the important players remained at St. James’ Park.

Despite all of the conjecture, there were no exits for Miguel Almiron, Kieran Trippier, or Callum Wilson.

But Isaac Hayden was one of the players who did walk away.

His time with Standard Liege ended prematurely, thus he signed on loan with QPR for the remainder of the campaign.

Isaac Hayden: Jamal Lewis responds to the news of the Newcastle transfer

Jamal Lewis, a player who was also frozen out at St James’ Park and is currently playing in the second division on loan, was happy about Hayden’s move.

Lewis replied to Hayden’s Instagram post celebrating his transfer to west London with a heart-emoji.

Newcastle transfer news: Quite a calm Deadline Day For Newcastle supporters, judging by the amount of noise made, it was going to be a dull day.

That is obviously annoying, especially considering how thin the team appeared amid the injury crisis.

Nevertheless, there wasn’t much way to get around the FFP restrictions unless there was a significant sale because they had been discussed well in advance of the timeframe.

Of course, there won’t be much wiggle room if players like Hayden are sent out on loan once more, but, to be honest, it hasn’t felt like many clubs had much extra cash to spend in the Premier League, much less the Championship.

Even if Hayden did not receive a transfer, he was probably not a member of Eddie Howe’s team, so perhaps a stint at QPR can help him restart his career.
