According to Fussball News, Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in William Pacho has Eintracht Frankfurt worried that his time there would be limited.

After having a breakthrough season at Royal Antwerp, Pacho joined Frankfurt last summer, and he has adapted to German football with ease.

This season at Deutsche Bank Park (Transfermarkt), the 22-year-old has started every Bundesliga match, and he is fast becoming one of the greatest young center-backs in the division.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri revealed on social media earlier this week that Tottenham has been keeping a close eye on the Ecuadorian and has even inquired about his availability. This revealed Tottenham’s interest in the young player.

He continued by saying that Ange Postecoglou’s team will likely have a lot of competition from their Premier League opponents when it comes to acquiring the central defender in the summer.

Tottenham’s interest in the former Royal Antwerp star has now been mentioned by Fussball News, and they claim that Frankfurt is concerned that he would leave the team at the end of the current campaign.

The article further states that, considering how well Pacho has played this season, the administrators of the German team are concerned that he might “quickly take a next step.”

Frankfurt allegedly wanted €40 million (£34.1 million) to allow the defender to depart, even though they had only paid €9 million (£7.6 million) for him in the summer.

Spurs  Views

It’s too soon to predict which center backs Tottenham will target in the summer. Ashley Phillips’ performance at Port Vale and Postecoglou’s assessment of the 18-year-old’s readiness for a first-team role at Spurs the following season will probably have an impact on the choice.
