Nuno Tavares received a warning from Nuno Espirito Santo, the head coach of Nottingham Forest, when he first arrived at the City Ground.

The Telegraph has reported on this.

What, therefore, did Espirito Santo think of Tavares at the time of his hiring by the Forest? Let’s investigate more closely.

The opinions of Nuno Espirito Santo on Forest defender Nuno Tavares

Even if Tavares didn’t leave his impression under Steve Cooper, it seems like Espirito Santo sensed something in the player.

Harry Toffolo was favored by Espirito Santo’s predecessor at left back, and Tavares wasn’t even included in the team.

According to The Telegraph, Espirito Santo noticed something in the man who was on loan from Arsenal right away.

He did, however, give him a deadline by which he had to demonstrate in training why he should be allowed to remain at the club.

There were rumors that Tavares might depart Forest during the January transfer window.

But Tavares has grown to be a key player for Forest, as evidenced by Shay Given’s praise of him on Match of the Day following the team’s victory over West Ham.

The player helped the Ligue 1 team qualify for the Champions League by scoring six goals while on loan at Marseille during the previous season.

Tavares may now seize opportunities thanks to Espirito Santo

The Portuguese player has made quite the comeback, and we thought his performance on Saturday was his best.

Tavares appears to be the top choice after starting the last three Premier League games.

For the 24-year-old, who at one point appeared to be heading out of Forest, it has been an incredible turnaround.

It’s unclear what Tavares’ future contains, but for the time being at least, he deserves a break from the Forest.

It is commendable that Espirito Santo asked much more from Tavares, and he will now be eager to return the Forest manager’s faith.
