Pundit predicts that if Postecoglou leaves Tottenham amid rumors, “He’ll be desperate.”
Alan Hutton claims that Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, will not “jump ship” and quit North London to take a managerial position at Liverpool this summer.
The Australian has had a successful first season at Tottenham, and because of his achievements in London and Scotland, commentators have connected him to the open post at Anfield as the Reds start the process of replacing departing manager Jurgen Klopp [talkSPORT, 29 March].
Most people had anticipated that former midfielder Xabi Alonso would join Liverpool, but the Bayer Leverkusen manager has already declared that he will stick with the Bundesliga champions to support them in the Champions League the next year.
Hutton doesn’t think Postecoglou would even consider the approach if he was offered the role because of his present project at Spurs, even if it will force the Reds to start again.
“I don’t think he’s going to leave,” Hutton told Tottenham News.
Not at this time. I simply don’t think of him as that kind of guy; you can tell how grounded he is by the way he speaks. Simply put, I don’t see him giving up and going after all this time.
“He’s making an impact at Tottenham, and I believe Daniel Levy will support him and get him the players he wants.” Right now, they’re in a good spot.
Since he is a winner himself, I’m sure he will be driven to change the fact that they haven’t won a trophy since 2008. Every manager before him has attempted to do so.
“I honestly don’t think he’s that kind of guy, so I just don’t think he’ll jump ship.”
Will Liverpool try to hire Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham?
Due to his attacking style of play, Postecoglou has become as one of the most well-liked managers in the English game, and teams from the Premier League and beyond will be eager to sign him away from Spurs.
Postecoglou Ange
Spurs’ Ange Postecoglou has made an impression since joining.
But under the Australian’s leadership, Tottenham have already made significant progress, and with Levy likely to support him in the transfer market this summer, winning trophies might actually be attainable the following season.
Hopefully, Postecoglou will turn down any advances from Anfield should the Reds make a move, proving Hutton correct. In this manner, Spurs can start getting ready to advance farther in their present manager’s tenure.
In other Tottenham news, Hutton predicted that Spurs will sign Albert Gudmundsson from Juventus.
