Since joining Tottenham Hotspur, Ange Postecoglou has made it apparent that he is prepared to let go of underperforming players rather than keeping them on the team as dead wood.

Last summer, Postecoglou dispatched Harry Winks, Davinson Sanchez, Tanguy Ndombele, Joe Rodon, Sergio Reguilon, and many others on their way, deciding they were not part of his plans at Tottenham.

The Australian manager evidently dislikes it when players are dissatisfied with their idle existence. Undoubtedly, he had to trim the bloated roster because Spurs would not be playing in Europe in the 23–24 season.

But last summer, he made the rather unexpected decision to keep Bryan Gil with the Spurs. Since joining Spurs in a transaction of £21.6 million plus Erik Lamela, who left for Sevilla, Gil, 23, has had a challenging time.

Bryan Gil will be sold by Tottenham for a “very reasonable” fee.

In just three years, Gil has made just 42 appearances for Spurs. He has been sent out on loan twice, making an impact at Valencia and then Sevilla, his previous club. This season, he has remained at Tottenham.

However, his position even in the matchday squad has vanished after Timo Werner’s signing. The last six Premier League games, he has not been a member of the Spurs team. He is reportedly “not happy.”

Currently, a fresh report from Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, a Spanish publication. They assert that, despite Postecoglou’s previous declaration that Gil is “fantastic,” Tottenham is prepared to bid Gil farewell for a “very reasonable” £5.2 million.

Spurs would suffer a significant financial loss as a result for the Spain U21 player. After spending £21.6 million in cash to acquire Gil in 2021, Tottenham would be saying goodbye to £15.4 million if Gil were to sell for £5.2 million.

This summer, who might be interested in Tottenham star Gil?

Most likely, he goes back to Spain. Having previously had the player back on loan, Sevilla is probably eager on the player they developed through their academy; Valencia may also be interested after he made an impression while on loan.

Other Spanish teams will undoubtedly be interested in signing Gil, as Real Sociedad is rumored to have held talks to sign him in January. It will be interesting to see whether any English teams show interest in the winger this summer.

However, it’s likely that he will return home in an effort to revitalize his career and locate a place he can call home. In the upcoming months, a lot of people will be vying for him at such a low cost.
