Conor Gallagher would be a better match for Spurs than for Chelsea, according to Pat Nevin, even though it would hurt to see the midfielder wearing a Tottenham shirt.

As the summer transfer window approaches, there are more and more reports tying Gallagher to a move to Tottenham across London.

The Sun reported last week that Spurs intend to move rather early in the transfer season for the midfield player, knowing that Chelsea must raise money before the end of June.

The source went on to say that the Lilywhites intend to let the England international go before the preseason officially begins.

Gallagher and his representatives now acknowledge that their time at Stamford Bridge is probably coming to an end this summer, according to HITC, which reported this a few days ago.

Although Mauricio Pochetitno would like to keep the 23-year-old at his boyhood club, the source stated that the player’s entourage is aware that a sale is possible due to the club’s financial problems and their client’s contract status.

Could Conor Gallagher bridge the Chelsea-Spurs gap?

Nevin acknowledged that Pochettino might not have control over Gallagher’s circumstances, but he also hinted that the midfield player would flourish under Ange Postecoglou.

“In an ideal world where finances are all balanced, Chelsea would absolutely not be looking to sell Conor Gallagher,” the commentator said to Grosvenor Sport (via The Metro). It is unfathomable; I cannot imagine it. Just like the time Mason Mount vanished. However, you must act if your financial situation dictates that you must.

Many Chelsea supporters might find it really agonizing because, as someone recently told me, it’s like selling the family silver. Although it’s a little unsettling, Chelsea has begun selling off portions of the stadium and hotels. In reality, though, the accountants are in charge.

“It wouldn’t be shocking if he chose to join with someone like Conor Gallagher, who was signed by Spurs; obviously, Chelsea supporters would be most hurt by that. However, given his style of play, I believe he would be a better fit for Spurs as a player.

Because we don’t know who is ultimately making the decisions, the transfer situation involving Chelsea is really somewhat tricky. In the end, the manager will make adjustments, wanting to bench many players and add more seasoned players in specific positions.

“That’s a kind of slight delicacy of it, but I have no doubt that he may not be the one making any decisions, which is quite common in the modern game.”

We are aware that Tottenham has been preparing a move for Gallagher since last summer, and that Postecolgou has had his eye on the midfield player for a considerable amount of time.

The Lilywhites will undoubtedly make an offer for the 23-year-old this summer, although it’s possible that Chelsea would rather sell the player to a team other than Spurs.
