Nelly Korda acknowledges that she is “vibing with it” as she looks to make even more history this weekend at the Chevron Championship on the LPGA Tour.

After winning four games in a row on the LPGA Tour, 25-year-old Korda has swiftly surged to the top of the World Ranking.

The sweet-swinging American took a little break after defeating Lydia Ko in a playoff to win the LPGA Drive On Championship in January.

On March 24, Korda made a comeback and won the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship in a playoff.

Korda won the Ford Championship by two shots a week later.

After that, she defeated Ireland’s Leona Maguire in the championship match to win the T-Mobile Match Play.

With that victory, Korda joined 88-time LPGA Tour great Kathy Whitworth as the only other Ameeican to win four of their first five LPGA Tour starts in a season. Whitworth accomplished this feat in 1969.

Korda wants to win five straight games.

Following a week off to spend some much-needed time with family and friends, Korda is back in the running for the first major of the season at the Chevron Championship.

Korda shot a 69 to go to 8-under par for the tournament after making a double bogey on her opening hole in the second round.

She is now only one shot behind the current leaders, Jee Hin Im and Atthaya Thitikul, who are both playing at 9-under par.

As the weekend approaches, Korda acknowledges that she is feeling fantastic, much to the dismay of her classmates.

She is simply “vibing with it” and accepting each day as it comes.

Following round two, Korda informed reporters:

“I’m now only halfway done. Despite how much golf I’ve played, I still have more to play. Plenty of golf remains, and anything can happen. My coach says, “Just going to stick to my process and vibe with it.”

In 2021, Korda plans to add a second major to her resume in addition to her Women’s PGA Championship.

Korda would become the first player to accomplish the feat since Annika Sorenstam in 2005 if she were to win five straight games this week.

The only other player to win five straight times on the LPGA Tour is Nancy Lopez.

There has never been a six-peat winner on the LPGA Tour.

Korda would have an opportunity to create her own history on the LPGA Tour next month if she wins this week.

Woad is praised by Lopez at Augusta National

Lopez praises Woad at Augusta National Lottie Woad, the emerging star of England, is playing well in T10 at the Chevron Championship, scoring 4-under par.

Two weeks ago, Woad, 20, became the first European to win the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. She did so by birdieing three of the final four holes at Augusta National.

She was granted permission to compete in the season’s opening major as a result.

At the beginning of the week, Woad acknowledged that all she wanted was to make the cut, but now she’s in the running for her first major championship.

About five strokes separate her from the lead going into the Carlton Woods weekend.

“I’m going to see how close I can get and keep trying to contend,” Woad said.

“I just want to continue how I’m playing and if I can be around the lead on Sunday, that would be pretty cool.”
