Jermaine Jenas has praised new goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and has been selecting his best Tottenham team from both the current roster and players he played with.

Since signing, the Italian goalie has been nothing short of extraordinary. Vicario, who replaced Hugo Lloris in the summer and cost £17 million, has performed better than many had anticipated.

In fact, James Maddison praised Vicario as well, even though he acknowledged that he had never heard of him prior to signing, and Clive Allen acknowledged that he has been astonished by how good the new stopper has been.

The 27-year-old appears to have played in the Premier League for a long time, and former Spurs midfielder Jenas has recently praised him.

The Daily Mail gave Jenas the assignment of selecting his top players from among his teammates and current first-team players.

The former Tottenham midfield player found it difficult to make decisions on a few calls.

But Jenas was unsure about his decision when it came to selecting between Vicario and former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

“Vicario.” When I look at Vicario, I simply believe that he is the complete package. He’s got it all,” Jenas remarked.

Given the history of the former England player, Jenas’ ranking of Vicario above Robinson for Spurs is highly commendable. Vicario has undoubtedly looked the part.

Tottenham has had years of difficulty finding a replacement for Lloris. However, it looks like they completed it recently and at a great cost.

The best teams that take home trophies all have strong goalkeepers. For an example, see Alisson and Ederson. Additionally, it appears that Tottenham has a capable goalkeeper of their own.

There’s a compelling case to be made that Vicario has been the best summer signing for Spurs of all.
