Even though Ange Postecoglou made public comments about Yves Bissouma after the midfielder was sent off against Nottingham Forest, Alasdair Gold believes that the Tottenham head coach may be extremely annoyed in private over the player’s antics.
In the 70th minute, Bissouma had a crazed moment as Spurs were winning 2-0 at the City Ground. He dropped the ball and made a risky lunge at Ryan Yates in an attempt to get it back.
After rewatching the tackle on the touchline monitor, the referee changed the yellow card that the Mali international had originally received to a red one.
The midfielder, who is expected to travel to the AFCON next month, will serve a four-match suspension instead of a three-match suspension for receiving his second red card of the season. As a result, he may not play in another Premier League game until February.
In a public defense of Bissouma, Postecoglou stated that the midfield player had no disciplinary issues and that the tackle was not deliberate (Football.London).
But according to Gold, the 58-year-old would have been furious with what the former Brighton player did.
On the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham podcast, the journalist stated: “I’m sure he’s unhappy with Bissouma privately, he must be.” The man is a really gifted player who has missed a lot of games for the Spurs. When he returns in February, he will have played.
“Especially since he considers him to be so essential to his team at the number six position. “It is what it is,” as he put it, but I’m not sure if that’s how things should be; I believe they could be doing better.”

In comparison to Romero, Bissouma has not struggled with discipline and is undoubtedly not a dirty player. After dropping the ball, the 27-year-old briefly freaked out. I’m confident Postecoglou will handle the situation and make sure the midfield player learns from his error.
